A 6th-century Indian philosopher named Bhartrihari once said:

 

 

Knowledge grows when shared.

 

Even though that was a long time ago, he's still right. The purpose of e-sharing is to give way to that thought, by providing an online medium upon which communities and their members can rely to deposit, share, discuss and review their contributions.

But there's a twist: e-sharing is generic, which means that any community can use it and pick the features they need, and users can belong to many communities at a time. This means communities will help each other evolve, just by being used.

 

e-sharing can be used, for instance:

 

 

• as a news portal
• as a Content Management System (in fact, the frontpage and page you're reading right now were made with the exact same modules other communities can use)
• as a document sharing platform

 

and we'll add new features to it as time goes by.
